my favorite childrens books...

I've joined Swap-bot. If you haven't..you should. It's amazing and highly addictive. For this challenge..I had to come up with four of my favorite childrens books. Away we go...

1. Small Pig by Arnold Lobel.

I can't even explain why it's my favorite. Basically the small pig feels as if he's a burden to the farmers that own him. He runs away and winds up in the big city. Thinking all he wants to do is relax in the mud, he unfortunately finds himself in concrete. The farmers searched until they find him. And never take him for granted anymore.

2. The Rescuers by Walt Disney.

This was the first book I owned as child. This was the first movie I've ever seen. It remains my favorite till this day. It's a completely captivating story with a moral I've always thought of. Two small mice sent to rescue an orphan against the greatest odds. And they prevail. No matter how small they are. They believed in their mission and nothing kept them from achieving it.

3. Danny & the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff

A fun book to read. I still own this book. (And the others actually.) It really captured my attention. Syd Hoff has a way with always doing that.

4. Julius by Syd Hoff.

Like Danny, it's a fun book to read. I love his use of larger than life imagery. It stands out.
